🧰 What You’ll Need Before You Start
Make sure you have all the right tools and supplies:
✅ DTF Printing Essentials:
- A DTF printer
- DTF ink (CMYK + White)
- DTF transfer film (PET film)
- DTF powder (for sticking the design to the fabric)
- RIP software (used to prepare designs for printing)
- A heat press or curing oven
- A computer (Windows is recommended)
- Cleaning tools (gloves, syringes, cleaning solution)

🔧 Step-by-Step DTF Printer Setup Guide
Step 1: Unbox and Check Your Printer
- Remove all packaging materials.
- Place your printer on a flat, stable surface.
- Unlock the printhead if it’s secured for shipping.
Step 2: Add the Ink
- Carefully pour ink into the tanks or cartridges (CMYK and white).
- Use syringes or funnels to avoid spilling.
- Please make sure the white ink is filled last, and shake it gently before use.
⚠️ Always wear gloves — DTF ink can stain, and white ink clogs easily if left open.
Step 3: Connect to Your Computer
- Plug the printer into power and connect it to your computer with a USB cable.
- Install the printer driver and RIP software (e.g., Acrorip or Flexi).
- Choose your printer model in the software.
Step 4: Get the Printer Ready
- Run a head cleaning from the control panel or software.
- Do a nozzle check to make sure all colors are printing well.
- If you see missing lines or breaks, clean the printhead again.
🧽 Winnerjet Tip: We recommend cleaning the printhead with a special solution before your first print for better results.
Step 5: Load the DTF Film
- Load the film with the printable (matte) side facing up.
- Make sure it feeds straight — crooked loading causes print issues.
Step 6: Prepare and Print Your Design
- Open your artwork in RIP software.
- Set it to “mirror image,” so it prints correctly.
- Choose white under base and print settings (like 720×1440 resolution).
- Press “Print” and watch your first design come to life!
🔥 After Printing: Powder, Cure & Transfer
Once your print is done:
- Apply DTF powder while the ink is still wet. Cover it evenly.
- Shake off the extra powder.
- Heat it in a curing oven at 110–120°C (230–250°F) for 2–3 minutes.
- Press the design onto your fabric at 150–160°C (300–320°F) for 10–15 seconds.
🧊 Cold peel? Please wait for it to cool before removing the film. Winnerjet’s cold peel film makes it easy and clean.
🧼 Keep Your DTF Printer in Good Shape
- Shake the white ink bottle every day
- Do a nozzle check before printing jobs
- Clean the printhead and ink station once a week
- Use a maintenance solution if your printer sits unused
- Keep your film dry and dust-free
✅ Summary: Start Smart, Print Better

❓FAQs – DTF Printer Setup
💻 Do I need special software for DTF printing?

🎨 Can I use regular inkjet ink?
No. You must use DTF ink, especially for the white layer, to bond with the fabric.
📏 Why is my design printing off-center?
Check if the film is straight, and make sure the design is centered in the RIP software.
⚠️ What if my white ink clogs?
Clean the printhead and always shake the ink bottle. Winnerjet’s white ink is made to reduce clogging.
