Apply DTF Transfers Specific Steps

Step 1: Preparing the workspace

Having a clean, well-maintained workspace is a prerequisite for preparing for the transfer.

You can do this at home by preparing a space where you can put down a work table and make sure the space is dry, ventilated, and free from dust contamination.

Step 2: Preheat the heat press

The most important step in making a DTF transfer is to warm up the heat press. This is to ensure that the transfer will be done correctly and with the best results.

Switch on the heat press and set the parameters according to the recommended temperature for T-shirt transfers, which is generally set at 275°F-310°F (135°C-155°C).

Step 3: Pre-treat the garment

While the heat press is preheating to the recommended temperature, place the garment on the heat press plate. Make sure the garment is correctly placed without wrinkles. This is a prerequisite for a clean heat press.

Now, press the heat press with light pressure and heat press for 3-5 seconds. This removes moisture from the clothes and ensures that the clothes are flat.

Step 4: Heat Press Transfer

This is the most crucial step; you need to read it carefully.

Place the DTF transfer with the design on the garment where it needs to be printed, making sure the printed side is facing down. Check that it is centered on the garment. Press the heat press machine, keep the pressure medium and the pressing time is 15-20S.

Step 5: Tear film transfer

The amazing step that is about to witness the birth of the artwork.

If you use hot tear film, you can peel off the film immediately. Carefully peel off one corner of the film to complete the design.

If you use cold peel film, you will need to completely cool the surface of the garment and then peel the film as described above to complete the process.

Step 6: Repressing to improve the effect

This step is optional and is designed to enhance the durability of the design.

Put the transferred clothes on the platen, cover the pattern part with clean parchment paper, and press the heat press for 10-15 seconds to complete the operation.
